Prayers this week

Well, happy prayers for Wendy, the sister of a friend, as she and her husband got their referral last week of a baby girl from Ethiopia. Prayers that their court date & traveling can come soon! Our contract with our realtor runs out this next weekend - prayers that we make the right next step regarding our house. Since our spring vacation we've been creating and fine-tuning some goals for the 1, 3, 5+ years in our future. So here's to prayers that we make the right decisions in the next few weeks to reach those goals! And side note - Roman got an engine, rather than a video. And we had a great time! As usual, I'll say that I'll post pictures soon, but it's also 10 after 10pm and I want to go to bed.

Today is my birthday!

I will have completed my 33rd year... or at least, I will after 9:30am this morning. Plans for today are wrapped around Roman's favorite thing besides Star Wars - Thomas. We're going to see the REAL Thomas at Greenfield Village. And Roman truly believes it's what I wanted to do for my birthday, which is partially true! Roman has planned his day. "We will take money from my train bank, and we will go to the store (at the Village), and we will buy a VIDEO that we don't have yet!" He is very excited about his plan. I told him I wanted a Thomas t-shirt of my own, but he said they don't make them in my size!

Brief update

This week adjusting back to "real life" has been a struggle for Roman. Every night he's been Jekyll-and-Hyde, pleasant one minute and falling apart the next. Mostly because he's not getting his way. His need for control has triply increased this week. He also is on a growth spurt again. We finally have been able to realize it - the day or two before, he will eat nothing. Then, for about 4-5 days, he will eat constantly, always complaining of hunger. The other complaint that comes with growth spurts is that his feet hurt. We used to think it was his shoes, bad arches, something like that, but now we've linked it to the spurts. So we just started another one.... Roman was crying uncontrollably this afternoon, partly because it's been a crazy, busy, fun week - partly because his feet REALLY hurt. School went along with no major disruptions this week, and all my plans fell together. Today we had drama as marijuana was found and the police were called in. I'm...

Spring Break recap

On our way to Atlanta we stopped at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. It has two separate buildings for River and Ocean animals. The River building was cool, 5 stories (one big tank) with side exhibits as well. The best part of this stop was in the Ocean exhibit, where Roman and I went face-to-jaws with a very big shark. It swam not 2 feet in front of our faces (luckily, glass in between)! We arrived at Scott & Serena's Saturday afternoon and just relaxed and caught up with them. It was nice to not be moving! They made a great dinner for us. After church on Easter, we had naps (well, Roman, Scott, and Serena did!) and then went to Stone Mountain . We rode the train around the base of the mountain, walked the park area, then took the sky-tram to the top of the mountain. What a view! What a Confederate monument! On Monday we had breakfast with Scott, then headed off to Hilton Head, SC to visit Baba & Grandpa. We spent Monday and Tuesday lounging by the pool, playing in...
